The Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA) has welcomed two new bills passed in the USA House of Representatives that support key tax policies and expand workforce development for the events industry.
The “One Big, Beautiful Bill”, from the House Ways & Means Committee, preserves existing tax treatment for business profits, private investment and association events. It also expands the use of Section 529 savings plans to cover licenses and certifications.
The “Student Success and Taxpayer Savings Plan”, from the House Education & Workforce Committee, would allow Pell Grants to fund short-term skilled workforce training for the first time.
““The House of Representatives has taken two big steps forward toward ensuring our industry’s ability to drive economic growth, support job creation and empower small businesses,” said Tommy Goodwin, executive VP of ECA. “These issues will be front and centre on ECA Legislative Action Day.”
