Nineteen Group has acquired the Commercial Vehicle Show (CVS). The show was previously organised under The Commercial Vehicle Show LLP, co-owned by the Road Haulage Association (RHA) and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The acquisition formalises an arrangement that began in August 2024, when Nineteen Group was appointed to organise CVS. The company will now fully own and operate the event. A long-term agreement has also been signed to keep the involvement of the RHA and SMMT.
The acquisition was announced in April 2025, ahead of the upcoming CVS, scheduled to take place from 29 April to 1 May 2025. CVS will be held at the NEC Birmingham.
Nineteen Group aims to build on the event’s existing industry role and expand its scope. Peter Jones, CEO of Nineteen Group, said: “We’re thrilled to officially welcome the Commercial Vehicle Show into the Nineteen portfolio. It’s an iconic event, and we’re committed to building on its success and deepening its impact across the sector. Crucially, we’ve entered into a long-term agreement with the Road Haulage Association and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders to continue their vital involvement ensuring the Show remains rooted in the industry it serves.”
The RHA and SMMT will remain involved in the event’s strategic direction. Richard Smith, managing director of the RHA, stated: “This isn’t just an exhibition…it’s where business happens, relationships are built, and the industry evolves.”
Mike Hawes, chief executive of the SMMT, added: “The Commercial Vehicle Show is an essential fixture in the UK automotive calendar, offering manufacturers and suppliers a key platform to connect with operators, policymakers, and stakeholders.”
Mike Costain will remain as event director, continuing to lead the operational and strategic planning of the show. Future developments include expanded content and greater engagement with logistics, transport and supply chain stakeholders.
