Become a NAHLE Certified Director of Engineering (CDOE)
The CDOE program has been developed with the input of several hotel management companies and industry professionals to provide a curriculum exclusively for hotel engineers and maintenance professionals of Full-Service Properties.
Overview:
The CDOE program consists of a 31-chapter study guide and two (2) open-book online exams administered by our partner, Litmos. Candidates can apply online and receive multiple chances to pass each exam.
Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation and a separate Login email to access the course, tutorial, and exams. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass. Upon passing, a Certificate of Completion (PDF format) is made available for download and printing.

Certification Process
The CDOE certification is awarded upon successful completion of two online Sectional Exams, administered via Litmos (a division of SAP). NAHLE partners with Litmos to deliver our Learning Management System (LMS) training platform. Each test is open-book and includes multiple-choice questions. Candidates must achieve a minimum passing score of 70% on each exam and may retake exams until passed. Each exam is timed for one hour.
Once all exams are passed, your Certificate of Completion may be downloaded as a PDF under the “Achievements” tab on Litmos’ LMS. Certificates print on standard 8.5×11” paper using most color printers.
