London Biotechnology Show kicks off second edition

The second edition of the London Biotechnology Show opens today (18 June) at Excel London, bringing together stakeholders from the medical and healthcare sectors to discuss developments in biotechnology.

The event includes a conference and exhibition focused on red biotechnology, with sessions addressing recent research, regulatory trends and global collaboration. Participants from industry, academia, and government are expected to attend.

Speakers include Professor Chris Johnson, chief scientific adviser for the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation; Thomas Balkizas, senior director of life sciences at Microsoft; and Claire Kerridge, head of gene therapy at Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

The exhibition features companies showcasing products, services, and solutions related to medical technology, diagnostics, and therapeutic innovations. Start-ups and established firms are present, offering attendees a look at current trends and new applications in biotechnology.

The London Biotechnology Show runs until tomorrow (19 June), with a full agenda of presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities.
