A new event focused on contemporary craft has been revealed by organisers Craft Scotland. HARVEST will run from 9 to 19 October 2025 at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh. Curated by Dr Stacey Hunter, the fair will occupy the City Art Centre’s entire fourth floor and feature work from over 70 Scotland-based makers.
HARVEST is structured as both a showroom and a selling exhibition, with displays arranged to reflect how craft can be integrated into domestic environments. Exhibits will include furniture, ceramics, homewares, textiles, glass, and jewellery.
Participants were selected through an open call that attracted more than 200 submissions. The final selection was made by a panel aiming to reflect a range of materials, practices, and career stages.
The exhibition explores several curatorial themes: the seasonality of harvest time, craft’s connection to food culture, developments in biomaterials and sustainable design, and the role of craft in hospitality and everyday living. A programme of workshops and events will run alongside the exhibition.
Irene Kernan, director at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, said :“We are delighted to introduce HARVEST as a new platform to celebrate the breadth and vibrancy of contemporary craft in Scotland. It’s an exciting opportunity to connect makers with new audiences and to spotlight the cultural and economic importance of craft in a fresh and meaningful way.”
The fair’s curator, DR. Stacey Hunter, said: “At the heart of HARVEST is a celebration of contemporary craft and conviviality where the themes of food and hospitality are explored, and where the joy of gathering is brought to life through a curated gallery and retail experience. It’s a privilege to be working with some of Scotland’s most interesting and talented makers and to see our community come together for our biggest showcase of craft to date.”
