10th GIS already a record-breaker ahead of doors opening in Piacenza

Leading European event for the lifting, access, and heavy transport sectors, the 10th edition of GIS, is set to be the largest to date when it returns to Piacenza Expo, Italy, 25-27 September. Established in 2009, GIS has grown from a domestic Italian event to become the largest and most influential meeting place for manufacturers and users of cranes, aerial work platforms, telehandlers, forklift trucks, heavy transport vehicles and other industrial handling equipment.

With a surge in international exhibitors, expanded footprint, and a future-focused conference agenda, organisers say the 2025 edition will provide a critical meeting place for discussing innovation and investment in the sector.

The exhibition will break previous records for both exhibitor numbers and exhibition space and the scale is an indicator of industry sentiment. The total exhibition space has expanded to 100,000sqm, including a brand-new 5,600sqm area to accommodate the demand. As of the end of July 2025, 433 exhibitors representing 472 unique brands had confirmed their attendance – surpassing the final count of the last edition in 2023 with several weeks still to go. The figure includes 68 exhibitors from outside Italy.

“This momentum is extraordinary,” states Fabio Potestà, director of event organiser Mediapoint & Exhibitions. “We are proud to confirm that GIS is now definitively Europe’s premier gathering for the lifting, access, and heavy transport sectors.”

Many exhibitors are planning to use GIS 2025 as a launchpad for new machines, technologies and services. Visitors can anticipate major announcements from industry giants and specialist innovators alike.

GIS 2025 will also feature its most comprehensive conference programme to date covering topics such as sustainability and electrification, workplace safety and training, and digitalisation and AI, all in collaboration with leading bodies, including IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) and INAIL (Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work).

GIS 2025 will also honour excellence with the Italian Terminal and Logistics Awards (ITALA), Italian Access Platform Awards (ITALPLATFORM) and Italian Lifting and Transportation Awards (ILTA) and a GIS by Night evening on 26 September will allow exhibitors and their clients to network and celebrate in a relaxed setting.

Potestà concludes: “GIS is more than an exhibition; it’s a community and a barometer for the health and direction of our sector. We invite professionals from across Europe and even further afield to join us in Piacenza this September to be part of this record-breaking event and to shape the future of lifting and logistics together.”
