Leeds based venue, Imaginarium has announced its closure.
The Imaginarium is an artist-led, multi-purpose community venue based in Leeds, located under a railway arch in the city centre.
It functions as a creative hub combining an art and clothing shop, houseplant and vinyl store (“Plant & Deck”), exhibition space, and a multi-use upstairs area with a licensed bar and café.
Run as a Community Interest Company, it supports visual arts, music, and creative writing through events like DJ nights, spoken-word sessions, workshops, and yoga classes. It’s also home to NARR Radio, broadcasting live from the venue, and is committed to being a welcoming, inclusive space for creative expression and collaboration.
Announcing the end of the venue on Instagram on 22 July, the organisers shared the announcement by saying: “Unfortunately the Imaginarium in its present location is going to have to cease to operate as a venue. This is not the end. We will be moving to a new space, aiming for 2026.”
The Instagram post added: “We have contacted all the promoters who work with us and we are sorry for all the hassle this will cause for everyone, and we are absolutely gutted ourselves.”
