The relaunched Prolight + Sound show will be streamlined to three days next year with a sharper focus on the European market, down from the previous four-day format that attracted 23,003 visitors from 108 countries in 2025.
Following exhibitor feedback, the new three-day format will deliver a more focused experience for both exhibitors and visitors.
Focus on sustainability and AI
The event’s supporting programme and Prolight + Sound Colleges will once again spotlight key industry topics. Sustainability will take centre stage, alongside developments in the use of AI in event technology. Security will also be a prominent theme, with content addressing event safety, data protection and crisis management.
The educational formats will be further refined in both content and structure, offering a platform for both young professionals and seasoned experts to expand their knowledge from bilingual panels and introductory lectures to hands-on workshops led by renowned specialists.
Environmental concepts will also come into sharper focus through a partnership with the European Association of Event Centres, with formats covering green touring and climate-friendly design. An expansion of educational offerings in the lighting sector is also planned.
Kerstin Horaczek, vice president of technology shows at Messe Frankfurt, said: “With this repositioning, we want to send a clear message that we are listening and we are shaping side by side with the people this trade fair is made for.”
Next year’s show will take place at Messe Frankfurt from 24-26 March.
