British Marine, the organiser of the Southampton International Boat Show, has revealed that this year’s 10-day show will have a new entrance, new feature areas, and an expanded line-up of on and off-water experiences.
The 56th edition of the maritime consumer show will take place from 19-28 September. Visitors will enter via a new entrance in Mayflower Park, and once inside, they’ll experience debut feature areas for powerboats (The Powerhub), fishing enthusiasts (Angler’s Alley), and enthusiasts seeking expert advice and top tips (The Boating Academy).
There will also be a new Waterside Lodge hospitality area for premium ticket holders.
Over at The Shipyard, the show’s returning festival zone, visitors will be able to enjoy live music, street food and entertainment all weekend, with a headline act expected to be announced soon. At last year’s event, Chris Moyles DJ’d on the opening weekend and Symphonic Ibiza closed the show.
The Southampton International Boat Show’s purpose-built Marina, which offers sea trials and on-water attractions, will again showcase vessels by type after the new format was introduced last year.
By grouping different categories of boats more logically, British Marine said it provides more space for demonstrations and makes it easier for visitors to navigate and explore boats and brands most relevant to them.
